Στο Πανεπιστήμιο του Τέξας στην Αμερική θα συνεχίσει την καριέρα της στο Βόλεϊ, η νεαρή αθλήτρια των Πάνθηρων Κοζάνης Δήμητρα Νάνου!
Μία μεγάλη πόρτα ανοίγει πλέον για την δικιά μας Δήμητρα, την οποία είχαμε την ευκαρία να βλέπουμε όλα αυτά τα χρόνια στα γήπεδα της Κοζάνης και όχι μόνο.

Greek guts, leadership defined, skills, work ethic, talent, but above all a relentless passion and drive to succeed, an indominable spirit, and the will to win... Dimitra Nanou set the Balkans and CEVs ablaze with memorable summers and epic Ws, complete with reverse comeback sweeps against favored teams, including her now close friends from Türkiye, who both love and admire the Greek national team leader, who in turn earned everyone's respect over the years.
Proud parents Katerina and Vaggelis are to be commended; they truly set the bar extremely high for what it means and what it takes to parent and help a kid with talent and full of promise get to where she wants to (and can) be... At the peak! This Panther from Kozani would write her own history in Greek sports, leading her team, her school, and national team to unprecedented success. And she would do all this with the humble greatness and the joy of the process only champions and historic figures display.
We remember once asking Dimi: "Wait, was that a chancy play, or did we see you hit left... twice, at a critical point? What now, do you terminate as a lefty?" And in fine Nanou fashion she'd retort: "Meh, after practice Dad and I work on this a bit, just to have some more options attacking..." That's the Nanou way. Inimitable!
Still, that's not all... A dedicated student, the epitome of a scholar-athlete, she always wanted more and worked hard both academically and athletically. Be it at home or on the road, she'd hit the books as much as she'd hit the gym, ensuring good work was always done, the right way, for the right reasons. Never fazed by challenges, always ready to welcome opportunities, enjoying the moments, and inspiring those around her, she's THE Nomos story to tell the kids coming after her years and decades later. From those indelible memories at EVE 2020, the youngest in our best attended showcase, with all the top programs' coaches evaluating talent live, Dimi already was showing flashes of brilliance... and she wasn't even a teen yet!
UTRGV Head Coach and international talent recruiter extraordinaire Todd Lowery was always there, to keep a watchful eye, and respectfully offer Dimi an opportunity to lead a conference champion and perennial postseason participant. Now, Todd and the Vaqueros are fortunate to get this Greek stud, who'll know how to lead the border troops to new glory days in a new NCAA era.
